The simple way to prevent mosquitoes breeding in your rainwater tank is by screening the inlet and the overflow of the tank. We can install a leaf filter to the tank's inlet and a mosquito screen to the tank's overflow outlet. These have a fine stainless steel screen inside them that mosquitoes cannot pass through.
![]() Liquid parrifin, kerosene, or vegetable oil should NEVER be added to a rainwater tank to prevent mosquitoes. All three pollute the water and line the inner tank walls with scum which only attracts dirt and slime. |
We clean and flush guttering of leaves and mud, which can block downpipes, causing gutter overflows. This can result in damage to the house structure and foundations. We install leaf guarding in most cases to help prevent bockages. |

Dirt and leaves left in guttering and downpipes will lead to corrosion. If this has occured, we can replace it with new galvanised guttering. |
