Filter Filters and Water Filtration in Adelaide

Whole house twin cartridge filter system.

We keep water filtration very simple!

Stage 1: A 10 micron polyester pleated cartridge is installed in the first filter housing. It removes suspended solids in the water such as dirt, rust, slime, scale, algae etc.

Stage 2: A 5 micron carbon block cartridge is installed in the second filter housing. It assists in the removal of finer silt particles along with colour, taste, odour and most germs from the rainwater supply.

12 month old dirty cartridge
A filter cartridge that has been
removed after 12 months or service.

The filter has captured dirt particles which would have normally entered the house and been consumed as drinking water or blocked in an expensive appliance such as a dishwasher, hot water service or washing machine. The filter cartridges should be changed every 12 months.

After years of installing water filter systems for rainwater tanks we have discovered the best combination of rainwater filters for a domestic house application.

These water filters are no gimmick. They really do work extremely well.

Under sink twin cartridge filter system.

Our under sink twin cartridge filter system is installed in conjunction with the whole house filter system. It further reduces contaminants in the water supply by filtering the water through a 1 micron spun filter cartridge and a 0.5 micron carbon block filter cartridge. This enables the unit to remove chlorine, lead, bacteria, pesticides, colour taste and odour.

Kit includes all required fittings to connect to the existing cold water supply line and utilises a chrome and black lever faucet. The unit is easily installed under the kitchen sink.

The U.V. system operates full time for 12 months then the internal lamp must be renewed. The lamp is quick and easily replaced which will ensure optimum performance.

Does your rainwater smell strange?

Does your rainwater tank fill from a 'Wet System'?

When the rain is finished, the 'wet system' remains full of water
When the rain is finished, the 'wet system' remains full of water.

The remaining rain water in the 'wet system' may contain contaminants such as leaves, dirt, moss, pollen, bird feathers etc which over time becomes stagnant and can breed bacteria. The elevated sections of the pipe can become heated by the sun causing the water to become dark in colour and putrid smelling from breeding bacteria.

When in next rains, the stagnant water is then pushed up and over into the rainwater tank, polluting the clean water. To solve this problem a drainage point must be installed and regularly opened to flush out this polluted water.

Some wet systems have a T-Junction with a removable screw cap however to remove the cap is often very difficult and dirty to remove.

90mm PVC Gate Valve
A simple and effective solution
to a really nasty problem!

The Simple Solution.

Install a 90mm PVC Gate Valve at the lowest point of the wet system in the end of a PVC T-Junction. This will allow a quick and easy way to completely drain the wet system. It is so simple to open by raising the plunger valve with two fingers and closing after the dirty water has been flushed out.

We recommend draining the water out of the wet system once the wet seasons are over ensuring it is always empty over the hot months.
